Summary Statistics
After clicking "Generate Report," a set of four summary cards appears at the top of the results section. These cards provide quick, high-level metrics about your filtered flight dataset. Each card displays a key performance indicator with a color-coded background.
The Four Summary Cards
| Card | Color | Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total Flights | Blue gradient | Numeric count | The total number of flights matching all active filters. Example: "42 Flights". |
| Total Duration | Green gradient | Human-readable time | The cumulative flight time across all matching flights, formatted as "Xh Ym" (hours and minutes). Example: "15h 32m". |
| Total UAVs | Purple gradient | Numeric count | The count of distinct UAVs that contributed to the matching flights. Example: "5 UAVs". |
| Total Takeoffs | Orange gradient | Numeric count | The sum of all takeoffs across matching flights. Example: "47 Takeoffs". |
When Do Summary Cards Appear?
Summary cards are only displayed after you click the "Generate Report" button. Before generating a report, the results section is empty. Once you generate a report, the cards appear immediately at the top, followed by data tables and charts below.
Reading the Metrics
The four cards act as entry points for deeper analysis. Use them to:
- Total Flights — Gauge the scope of your dataset. A low count may indicate overly restrictive filters.
- Total Duration — Track cumulative flight hours for maintenance planning, compliance logging, or performance review.
- Total UAVs — Identify fleet size involving in matching operations. Useful for multi-aircraft audits.
- Total Takeoffs — Monitor mission frequency. A high takeoff count relative to flight count suggests short missions.
Export and External Use
The summary cards also appear (in table format) when you export your report to PDF or CSV. These metrics are accessible in every export so you have a consistent summary regardless of delivery format.
Note: The summary cards compute values from your filtered dataset only. If you apply Date Range, UAV Type, and Light Conditions filters, the summary reflects only flights that match all three criteria.
Metrics Not Shown in Summary Cards
Two additional metrics are calculated but not displayed as summary cards:
- Total Landings — Sum of all landings across matching flights. Available only in CSV and PDF exports.
- Flight Date Range — First flight date and last flight date of the dataset. Available only in exports.
